Prerequisite: Students must have completed the Novice Longsword course to register for this class.

This class will be an introduction to the fundamentals of Rapier Combat, a type of swordplay common in Europe in the late 16th and early 17th century.  This style of swordplay is a staple of movies such as The Three Musketeers and The Princess Bride.

Students will be taught the fundamentals of rapier based fighting using the works of Capo Ferro as our source. Novices will have the opportunity to learn about this delightful form of combat and those who are more familiar with the rapier will be given opportunity to study it from the point of view of a particular master.

Students will require a standard fencing mask as well as a rapier simulator. While there will be no shortage of masks, the school has a limited supply of rapiers. Please contact the school about options.
