summer Classes

As a temporary measure during the pandemic, we are offering  outdoor drill classes when weather permits.

Information on each of the classes is below. Please check our Covid-19 policies before registering.

To Register for a class, click on one of the listings below or on our Calendar Page.

These drop-in-style weekly classes offer physically distanced, guided solo medieval weapons practice. Please register for each individual class you will attend.

Each one-hour class includes a warm-up, and instructor guided solo drills, including instructor feedback. Participants will also get access to the Ottawa Swordplay Discord Server, including access to our Saturday live video classes. In-person classes will often build on the Saturday live video class content.  The Weapon of the Week class content may vary from the longsword drill classes where appropriate.

Students will need a water bottle and a practice sword. If you do not have a training sword, we will loan you a training sword. Loaner swords are sanitized after each class. You do not need a fencing mask. For outdoor classes, you are encouraged to wear a non-medical (cloth) mask, but a mask is not mandatory. Check each class description to confirm the equipment needs.

Sliding Price Scale

These sessions are offered with a sliding price scale.  Choose between the Generous, Standard, or Subsidized rates according to your means.

COVID-19 Precautions (Updated June 9)
